Reports are in! Gathering signatures is VERY easy...
Yesterday, four of us collected over 420 signatures at a King Soopers from
10:30am to 4:45pm. A week before that, two of us collected 98 signatures in
an hour and a half at another King Soopers. During the day, a door-to-door
signature gathering collected 30 signatures in two hours. One volunteer
reports going to the State Convention in Pueblo and collecting 82 signatures
in their spare time!
PICK A KING SOOPERS IN YOUR AREA!
Simply send me an email and tell me which King Soopers you want to gather
signatures at, and what days/times you want to be there, and I will obtain
permission from King Soopers for you to be there. I will also find others
to be at the store with you. If just 50 volunteers were to spend Saturday
and Sunday at King Sooper stores, they would be able to collect 10,000
signatures per week. In 7 weeks, we would have over 70,000 signatures
collected from this one source alone!
RTD PARK N RIDE!!!
Take petitions out to an RTD Park-N-Ride between 6:30am and 8:00am, and
collect signatures! You only need to do an RTD Park-N-Ride once, and then
move to another. Please let us know which one you are planning on working
so we can keep a list of those sites that have been worked.

We need EVERYONE at these events!!!
Memorial Day Parade - Saturday, 5/29/04
Plan to meet in downtown Denver on the corner of 15th Street and Champa at
8:30AM. Bring any clipboards and badges you may already have. If you don’t
have them, some will be provided. The parade starts at 10:00AM and
thousands of people will be arriving during the preceding hours. We will
need time to divide the parade route up into sections so that teams of
people do not duplicate efforts. We are expecting 50,000 people to attend
this event and if we are able to ask all 50,000, we should be able to
generate nearly 40,000 signatures (assumes an 80% signing rate which is
turning out to be close to reality) – that puts us half way to our goal with
one event!!!!! Again, we need everyone there. The parade ends around noon
so you will still have time for the family barbeque
The People’s Fair
This event is BY FAR the biggest opportunity we have for gathering
signatures!! The People’s Fair will attract 275,000 people – all of who are
potential signers of the petition!!!!! It is a 2 full-day event. We will
be gathering signatures on BOTH days – June 5th AND June 6th. Plan to meet
downtown on the corner of 15th Street and Court Place at 9:30AM. Please
also plan to stay the entire day if you can on both days (it ends at 7:00PM
both nights). If you cannot make both days, obviously, we will accept any
help we can get to turn this off-shoring trend around and send a clear
message to our politicians that We The People won’t tolerate it. The Fair
is physically held at Civic Center Park.
Both of these events are free, although you might have some difficulty
parking. Please plan accordingly.
